10K Hours in Houdini - Day 2
Today I worked through a simple cup modeling tutorial in Houdini—and honestly, it felt really good to make something from start to finish. Even if it was basic, there’s something satisfying about seeing a clean result and knowing you built it from scratch using a completely different workflow than I’m used to.
I’m still holding off on the basketball for now. I’ll come back to it when I feel like I’ve got a bit more muscle memory with the fundamentals. Right now, it’s all about slowing down and actually learning the program—not just clicking through a tutorial but understanding why each node or step matters.
I’m realizing that the only way to truly get better is to practice, practice, practice—and then apply. Even small wins matter. Just sitting down and knocking out another tutorial helps lock things in.
This cup might be simple, but it’s another building block toward the bigger picture. Still early in the journey, but momentum is building.
